Car history: |
An Original 1973 Chevrolet Corvette 454 LS4 Numbers Matching Connie, the second owner purchased it in 1986. She purchased in Fontana, California at Leroy's Corvettes. It was being sold under consignment for the original owner with 33k miles showing. She drove it until 1990 where she had it parked & left out of the country. For the next twenty years, it sat in her garage & never got around to putting it back on the road, In 4/89 - it had 61,426 & in 8/09 - it had 61,596. In 20 years, it was driven less then 170 miles. In 2009, she towed it over to a Corvette specialist & they gone thru it to make it road ready. Recently, she came to the conclusion she was in a down sizing mode & could not afford the gas prices to keep the Vette anymore. Connie decided to rent a car for time being & sell the Corvette.
A True Numbers Matching 73' Corvette 454 Automatic with factory Air Condition. Connie ( 2 owner ) purchased it the way you see it in 1986, never had any thing cosmetically changed. Always been a California Corvette with it's original Blue plate. A fine example of a Los Angeles Vette. The original color was Elkhart Green with medium Saddle. Has factory a/c, power steering, am/fm radio, deluxe wheel covers, California emissions & tilt telescopic steering column.
The body is pretty much original other then a one 25+ years paint job. You can see the original green paint in certain spots. Does have it minor scratches, chips & scuffs. The paint still is presentable for it's age. At one time, she had the front rubber cover painted black due to chips. She mention it was easy to maintain. The underneath is in beautiful shape. You would only expect it out of a true California car. All the bottom is original & has never been restored. Gorges inner wells, front clip nose & structure.
The interior is 100% bone stock original. Remains the factory Medium Saddle interior & dash compartment. The console is in clean shape as well as the dash pad. Overall, the interior is in driver condition & in good shape for being close to 40 years old.
Has the original born with Big Block 454/275hp "CWR" LS4 Turbo Hydramatic. Connie had a ton of work done to it over the last 2 years costing up to $4,700+ Dollars with receipts. Including recent plugs, cap/rotor, timing, tune up, etc. The drive train is in great condition & would make a great daily driver for someone. The air condition & smog emissions are complete, still in place. The belts are missing though. Shifts into all gears & brakes just fine. It was well maintained over the years by the same Corvette specialist "Corvette Service" in Hawthorne. Keep in mind, she was driving this Vette as her only car the last 2 years. The headlights work proper & vacuums are in good condition.
Overall, A True California 1973 Corvette 454 #'s Matching. Only owned by 2 owner's since new & is in original condition. Would make a great driver for someone or restoration Vette.
Matching number big blocks are getting harder to come by. Especially a original Southern California Corvette still to be driven around town by an older lady. Can you imagine how many guys try to purchase it from her over the years? Her driving around town with a original 454 Corvette.
